Overview
9th CBSE is generally the first time most students see a sudden dip in scores. The Math syllabus introduces geometry in a big way. In fact, almost 75% of the syllabus is just geometry. It takes a little extra effort in most cases to master the skills needed. In Physics most chapters are crucial basics for advanced Physics. We have carefully curated worksheets and problem sets to help children master the topics. An emphasis on the beauty of scientific and logical thinking and a small introduction to the history of science is included.
Batch Size
We offer small batches (not exceeding 6). This ensures better interaction between the subject experts and students.
Selection Criterion
Only students scoring above 50% in 8th CBSE are selected for the batch. (Only Math scores are considered.) If the prerequisite score is between 40- 50% they will need to attend a foundation course to strengthen basics either before or in parallel with the course. If score is below 40% we recommend 1-1 classes.
Textbooks
We use NCERT coupled with our worksheets and some famous textbooks:
-
- Math – We recommend NCERT along with R.S.Agarwal / R.D Sharma. (The supplements are used for extra problem-solving) Coupled with our worksheets and tests, this will do the job.
- Physics- We use NCERT with Paul Hewitt’s Conceptual Physics, our worksheets and previous year questions. The number of questions solved per chapter are much more than the NCERT and one should be ready for some long sessions.
- Chemistry- At this stage we recommend only doing the basics of chemistry course. Children seem to easily manage the rest.
- We use various video demonstrations to enhance the learning experience.
- Foundation IIT/NEET – For students doing exceptionally well, we will recommend extra classes for foundation IIT-NEET at a nominal cost.
